Seiko Spring Drive is the
2005 TimeZone Watch of the Year!
A jury of 17 TimeZone moderators
reviewed the new offerings for 2005 and using a two-step nomination and
selection process, they identified 9 finalists for the 2005 TimeZone Watch
of the Year Award, aka the "TiZi". On January 3, TimeZone opened its Watch
of the Year Forum, where the community cast their votes through midnight GMT on
January 31. As it turns out, the watch that received the most votes from
the jury also received the most votes from the community, and we are
pleased to announce that the Seiko Spring Drive is the 2005 TimeZone Watch
of the Year with 240 community votes. The runner up is the Vacheron
Constantin Tour de I'lle, with 167 votes. Rounding out the top 5 were the
Harry Winston Opus V by Felix Baumgartner, the Tourbograph by A. Lange &
Sohne, and the Patek Philippe ref. 5959.
TimeZone will present Seiko with
its award at Basel 2006. Pictures of and information about the Seiko
Spring Drive appear below, as does a link to a page with more information
about all 9 finalists. TimeZone would like to congratulate Seiko, and thank everyone who took the time to cast
a vote!
